How to make 5-volt Dc Variable Power Supply || Dc Power Supply circuit with LM7805

 Introduction

In this blog, I will tell about the 5-volt DC power supply. How its work circuit diagram and the final result of power supply.

I designed a 220 AC to 12-volt variable filtered power supply by using the LM7805 Voltage regulator

Components

Transformer 220 to 12 volt Ac Stepdown

4Xn4001 diodes

1xLM7805

1x100 ohm Resistor

100uf Capacitor

220 volt Ac supply

 Working Principle

The working principle of this circuit is that the input you apply to this circuit is 220 volt Ac in step down Transformer 220 to 12 volt then make a bridge of 1N4001 diodes Diode is an Active component that converts AC source into Dc source. Then place a voltage regulator LM7805

This voltage regulator is used for filtration and for fixed output. LM7805 is a three-terminal device. The first pin is for input, the second pin is grounded and the third pin is an output pin. For variable supply, we use a 50k potentiometer.

The potentiometer is a Three terminal device The two pins are used for input voltage and ground pin and the center pin is used for variable output.

On the output pin of the potentiometer connect a 100 Ohm resistor and for filtration, we connect the 100uf capacitor.

The 5-volt dc power supply is ready now you can take the output from the capacitor.
