Design Three phase full wave control rectifier with Capacitor load || PSIM Simulation
In this article, you will learn about the 3-Phase full wave controlled rectifier circuit. In this circuit load is a Capacitor. Full-wave is generated by controlling the firing angle of SCR. In this case, the output is not full-wave because the capacitor is continuously charging and discharging. The output waveform is given at the end of this article
What is silicon controlled rectifier(SCR)?
Silicon controlled rectifier is three-pin four layers current-controlling device. Its one pin is used for firing. Firing is a control angle on which angle an SCR is in on condition. Once SCR is on by applying power on the firing angle pin it will remain on condition until power is cut-off.
SCR is used to make the control rectifier circuits whether it's a full-wave or half-wave rectifier.
Here is the symbol of SCR.
In my designed circuit I used six SCR and 3-phase AC supply.
