Design Three phase full wave control rectifier with Capacitor load || PSIM Simulation

In this article, you will learn about the 3-Phase full wave controlled rectifier circuit. In this circuit load is a Capacitor. Full-wave is generated by controlling the firing angle of SCR. In this case, the output is not full-wave because the capacitor is continuously charging and discharging. The output waveform is given at the end of this article

What is silicon controlled rectifier(SCR)?

Silicon controlled rectifier is three-pin four layers current-controlling device. Its one pin is used for firing. Firing is a control angle on which angle an SCR is in on condition. Once SCR is on by applying power on the firing angle pin it will remain on condition until power is cut-off.

SCR is used to make the control rectifier circuits whether it's a full-wave or half-wave rectifier.

Here is the symbol of SCR.

In my designed circuit I used six SCR and 3-phase AC supply.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
The working principle of the circuit is that there is 6 SCR but every SCR doesn't conduct the flow of current at one time. Only Two SCR can conduct the current at a time and generate the out. First Cycle T1 & T2 conduct and other SCRs will in off condition then in second cycle T3 & T2 will conduct and others will in off state and in the third cycle T5 and T4 will conduct. In that way, SCR will conduct and generate the full waveform of the control Rectifier.
T1 & T6 firing angle is 0 45.
T3 & T2 firing angle is 45 90.
T5 & T4 firing angle is 90 135.
